City Bright Lights
2013 was the year for…

Approaching the big 3-0, I initially looked at last year as a pretty average with no big life events. My life is (finally!) to the point where I am comfortable with my routine (after years of fully adjusting to the city).

However, when I think about all of the events that happened in 2013, I am shocked out how different my life has become in just a year. A new job that traveled me around the world including 3 trips to Asia, Indo and Thailand; a big move-in with S, and a traveling for a TON of weddings

January- I started a new job with my company

March- I started yet (another!) new job with my company- a job that has constantly challenged me, harbored longer hours/weekends, and enabled me to travel the world

May- I was the maid of honor in my bestie, Steph’s wedding

June- I turned the big 2-9 in Thailand (while on business)

July- I moved in with the BF, S- we combined our lives and started a new chapter together (I.E. the merging of furniture, figuring out finances, spending countless weekends painting and decorating our new home)

October- I was in quite possibly one of the best weddings I have ever attended- I was by Brittany’s side as she married Matt- they are truly one of my favorite couples!

November- (Another!) wedding for Miss Kendall in beautiful Bocca Raton!

December- S and I celebrated our first actual Christmas together and ventured to BOTH families to celebrate the holidays. I finally transferred my membership and joined the NY Junior League

Overall, more milestones than expected- looking forward to keeping the momentum for 2014.

A Memoir of 2014

It has been almost two years since I have posted on my little corner of the web. Life in the city and a job with (sometimes) longer than normal hours leave little time for reflection. Though there should always be time- I truly miss an outlet to write and document my thoughts and daily events.

Perhaps my guiltiest pleasure is the daily reading of lifestyle blogs where I can gain an inside peak into the lives of others. I am envious of their recorded lives and captured moments that they so publicly display on the web.

With that I am going to try to start blogging again- on a more consistant basis. Not to gain a public following, or publish in vain—but more of a record of reflection and memories. A personal diary of sorts that I can keep as a memoir of 2014.

With that – here’s the first post of the New Year—in hopes that the next 365 days holds small triumphs, adventures, and little moments in the city that I love.

Saturday night at The Smith. One of our favorite restaurants in the city (which happened to be a default because of the close proximity in a cab). Bundled up for a night on the town. Always a treat— great drinks, and the Jalapeno Cheddar grits are divine.

Trying to incorporate more fresh, vegan foods into my diet during the week. A great reminder for some great vegan protein ideas!

I nearly squealed when I stumbled upon this photo on pinterest. I have had this idea for a while to store the ridiculous large amount of jewelry that I own. A great visual to see this vision come to fruition (and YES- I will be on the lookout for apothecary jars ASAP).

Saturday’s are for:
Treating my footsies after a long week. Just got back from a MUCH needed mani/pedi.

After nearly a year of being on hiatus, I may be back to regular posting on my little corner on the web. I have realized that all of my little thoughts need a place to collect— this just may be the place to reconvene.

After all, you can’t truly be happy if you’ve never known pain. You can’t truly feel joy if you’ve never felt heartbreak. You cant really know what its like to be filled unless you’ve been empty…. Sometimes in life seasons don’t come in order; instead of fall, winter, spring, summer, we get three winters in a row….But that doesn’t mean spring wont eventually come.
